Auction items have been donated by individual Zuni artist in the support of the Zuni Pueblo ArtWalk initiative. All proceeds go directly towards the economic empowerment of Zuni artists through continuing the operations and growth of the ArtWalk.
80% of Zuni household rely on the arts for their livelihood. Inauthentic replicas decrease value and demand, while geographic isolation creates barriers for reaching customers. The ArtWalk initiative aims to address these obstacles and increase prosperity for the Zuni community.
Zuni Pueblo ArtWalk is an economic development initiative started with the support of an Artplace America grant by Zuni Artists, Zuni Pueblo MainStreet, UNM students and iD+Pi (the UNM Indigenous Design and Planning Institute), and Creative Startups. It had received additional support from NEA Our Town and innOvation grant awards and private donors.
